The VIAware Low Cost Solar Lighting Kit VIA-SRY-001 consists of a solar panel, a power supply box, a generic mobile telephone charger and a LED bulb. The LED bulb has a very low energy consumption, only 1Watt and is currently regarded as the best lighting solution for people in rural areas, especially in rural Africa. We use NI-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable battery instead of lead-acid battery or NI-CD battery because of its long life, no memory effect, not toxics and friendly to the environment.
